Antonietta Collins

Antonietta Toni Gonzalez Collins is a Mexican American Sportcaster. She works as an ESPN anchor of news and hosts SportsNation sometimes. She began working for ESPN in 2016. She is the daughter of television journalist Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta Collins is bilingual and has been since the age of 9. The ability to speak two languages helped her to get her first work at Univision, Miami. She was able to work as a producer for national programs like Nuestra Belleza Latina Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud Primer Impacto. It was the CBS station in St. Petersburg hired her for a position as an sports reporter. Then she moved in Rio Grande Valley in 2009 to become a reporter at one of the Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, as well as Fox2 News. Covering stories on immigration and drug trafficking from both sides the border with Mexico. She was a reporter for newscasts at 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a anchor later and a reporter on nine p.m. newscast in English in addition to another reporter for the 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. They moved to Mexico City, where Antonietta Collins was born on November of 1985. She also has a sister. The family moved from Mexico to Miami in 1992 following the departure from Mexico. In 1992, her parents separated following which, in the year 1995 she married Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer from the navy who passed away in the year 2006 from kidney cancer. At the end of June 2006, she went to spend a week with her sister at Canton Ohio. The older Collins girl was working there. Antonietta was at the end of her senior year in high school and had a very clear vision of what she wanted to do in her future career. She visited Mount Union University to see if it was a good fit for her. The result was that she loved the campus and they offered the course she wanted. She completed her schooling and was admitted to the university to pursue a degree in Media studies. Her relationship lasted for a while with her teacher Mark Bergmann who was the director for WRMU 91.1 FM of which she was a part. Mark's passion for journalism and her self-confidence inspired her. Herself strived to exceed his expectations and never let him down.
